Senate Bill 721 | Not Just a Balcony Law
Senate Bill 721 requires multifamily residential buildings with three or more dwelling units to have their balconies and other exterior elevated elements inspected by January 1, 2025, and every six years thereafter. (CURRENTLY AMENDMENT IS IN THE WORKS TO EXTEND DEADLINE TO 2026!)

Senate Bill 721 requires multifamily residential buildings with three or more dwelling units to have their balconies and other exterior elevated elements inspected by January 1, 2025, and every six years thereafter. (Possible extension in current amendment which is on the governors desk!)
Wood-based external elevated structures, including decks, stairways, walkways, and entry structures that are more than six feet above ground level must be inspected by the state-mandated deadline.
